Log line: In a shaky metropolis built of debris and populated by thrown away people, objects, and ideas, four roommates struggle vainly to prove there’s dignified life after disposal.
When you’re out-of-date, used up, last season, obsolete, broken-up-with, replaced by a newer model, deemed antique, or simply lame, you get sent to Garbage City. It’s a towering trash heap of every once-fashionable architectural trend, from two-tone mud huts to the ex-tallest building in the world, piled haphazardly into a barely-coherent urban behemoth that obscures the sun.
Garbage City teems with cultural history’s every has-been, from French Royalists, to Mesopotamian abacuses, to pre-Copernican models of the solar system, to 80s padded-suit wearing Wall Street coke fiends. Be they human or animal, concrete or abstract, here all have lives, personalities, and plans to turn their crappy den into an exercise room. Looking up from one of the city’s thousand street levels, you might see The California Raisins watching Dallas re-runs in a converted stage coach, or a mid-nineties Prada handbag picking the rubble trying to find a less-busted buckle. A motley public living in a kingdom of ruins whose infrastructure is a half-grade above a bombed out warzone, they awkwardly share a single
common blemish: nobody wants them anymore.
